Padukone was born to the famous badminton player Prakash Padukone. She was raised in Bangalore and born in Copenhagen. While still a teenager, Padukone was a participant in numerous National badminton competitions. But she gave up playing when she made the decision to be a professional fashion model. Padukone was born in Mangalore in India. The language she speaks is Konkani is her mother tongue. Padukone Village is situated within Kundapura Taluk within the Udupi District of Karnataka located in India. Prakash Padukone was a badminton legend, who retired in the 1980s. She has a mother who runs a travel agency also comes from the village.
